Hot from the humid pinewood studios underwater tank comes our latest blog and its all happening very quickly now with the goal of getting everything shot before December.
Under the watchful eye of our new producer Amy Gardner our first day back on set brings us to Pinewood studios where Natalie and Colin have the exciting job of getting drenched in water, luckily the water is of a balmy temperature so spirits are high. They both are throwing themselves into character and after nearly eleven months of waiting for this to happen its extremely exciting to see.
We are using Mike Valentine as our underwater d.o.p for this section of the shoot and he is bringing some very interesting ideas to the film. I can’t believe we are working with someone who has worked on great films such as Casino Royale and Atonement. We are a lucky bunch. Brek and Elizabeth both have their swimming costumes in their bags but with time pressing on I don’t think there is going to be much chance of a swim!
Matt Tinsley, the vfx supervisor for the film is on set making sure that the visual effects shots won’t be looking like visual effect shots when it comes to the final film! as well as the usual barrage of hair and make up, production design, camera crew etc.
Onto the rest of the week, the crew will slowly be making there way back up to the Isle of Mull to start shooting on Friday and the weather looks as ever extremely changeable so who knows what will happen – maybe Brek and Elizabeth will be using their swimming costumes after all! Bring it on…….
